Gender dimension in research workshop successfully completed!

The TARGETED-MPI team at the Athens University of Economics and Business successfully hosted an online workshop on June 26th and 27th, focusing on the Gender Dimension in Research content.
Over 20 participants, including academics, researchers, and students from various universities and research centers across Greece, attended the workshop.

The workshop aimed to showcase methodologies and best practices for integrating the sex and gender dimension into scientific research across multiple research fields, including Health and Social Sciences, STEM, and Business and Economics. The ultimate goal was to contribute to achieving bias-free and inclusive science for society.

The first day of the workshop focused on presenting key issues at stake related to gender-biased and gender-blind research and relevant methodologies to address these issues drawing from the Gendered Innovations. The second day of the workshop focused on presenting good practices for integrating the gender dimension in research proposals aimed at securing funding from the European Commission’s “Horizon Europe” Framework Programme.

Each day featured a presentation by Prof. Eleni Apospori, Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator of the TARGETED-MPI project, who introduced key concepts and best practices on the topics. Participants then engaged in group work, followed by a plenary discussion.

The workshop received positive feedback from all participants, who acknowledged both the theoretical and practical relevance of the presentations and discussions.
